Degrees
A degree is a document only a university or college can issue to certify that you've completed a period of study in a specific field. Depending on the course, the institution may require accreditation from a relevant governmental or professional authority.
To study in a college or university, first you must complete your high school education.
Most degree programs offer in-depth training on the theoretical background of their subject and the history of their field. Many institutions also require students to complete elective courses from other fields to help them develop a broader knowledge base. Required courses may include topics that are not directly relevant to your career but can offer different perspectives in your field.
Getting a degree may take between one and five years to complete; Bachelor's degrees usually take four years to complete, though some courses require five years of study. Master's programs usually last two years, and doctorates can take three to five years to complete.
